In de afgelopen twee weken hebben we alle mallen voor de wielkasten gemaakt. We hebben ze vier keer in de was gezet en gespoten met zwarte gelcoat, daarna konden er de eerste producten in gelamineerd worden.
The moulds for the wheelboxes are finished
In the last two weeks we have made all the wheel box moulds. They have been waxed four times and sprayed with black gelcoat, after that the products have been made.

De body zit in de mal en is geschuurd waar de wielkasten worden gelijmd.
De body moet in de mal geplaatst worden tijdens het lijmen om vervormingen tegen te gaan.
Over de kettingtunnel onder de voorwielkasten komt een stukje glasweefsel zodat water uit de wielkasten niet in de kettinggoot kan lopen
The body is placed in the mould and is sanded where the wheel boxes will be glued in.
The body has to be placed in the mould to avoid deformation during gluing.
Underneath the front wheel boxes the chain tunnel is closed off with some glass fibre fabric to stop water from the wheel boxes running into the chain tunnel.
Bij de achterwielkast kun je zien dat er een haakje voor de achterbrug bevestiging is ingelijmd, het daarvoor gemaakte malletje zit er nog aan.
You can see the aluminum piece that is glued in for the swing arm attachment next to the rear wheel box. The jig that has been made to hold it in place is still there.
Alle mallen zijn inmiddels weer naar Slowakije verhuisd zodat daar al met de productie begonnen kan worden. Maar we zijn nog niet klaar.
Wat moeten we nog doen?
- pluggen en mallen maken voor de beide ketting kappen
- plug en mal maken voor het elektra kastje
- plug en mal maken voor het derailleur kapje
- kleiner voorframe en klerenhanger met lasmal maken
- de persmal voor het schuimdeksel maken
En natuurlijk moet de eerste fiets nog rijdend gemaakt worden om het een en ander te testen.
All moulds have been transported to Slovakia so they can start with producing the body’s. But we have not finished yet.
What do we still need to do?
- make the plugs and moulds for both the chain covers
- make the plug and mould for the electric box
- make the plug and mould for the derailleur cover
- make a smaller frame and welding jig
- make the mould to press the foam cover
And off course the first bike has to be finished to be able to test all these things.
